Getting there by car

Northbound: On Pan-American Highway “Ruta 5” from Santiago
to La Serena Ovalle – Samo Alto – Pichasca – Seron – Vado Morrillos

The road conditions are good, 4x4 by no means necessary!

Leave the Pan-American Highway – drive out approx. 80km before La Serena - turnoff in direction of Ovalle – and drive into the village of Ovalle. In Ovalle follow the highway to La Serena.

On the highway to La Serena, about 3 kilometres after the city Ovalle, turn right and follow the signs "Samo Alto"/ „Seron“/ "Hurtado". After this junction, after about 100 minutes driving time over partly paved streets, you reach Vado Morillos.

In Vado Morillos, pass the wooden bridge over the Rio Hurtado river and turn left. Drive through the gate which is closed, please close it again, that our horses don’t run away into the Andes. Follow the way and after about 1500 meters you are in front of our gate: Corral los Andes.

La Serena - Vicuña - Hurtado - Vado Morrillos

Please consider: it’s a narrow gravel road manageable for any kind of car, but keep in mind, you need approx. 100 minutes for the 43km!

In Hurtado at the police station you turn right. After a drive of about 5 kilometre’s you will arrive at the bridge, which leads across the river Rio Hurtado. Shortly before the bridge you turn right to the entrance of Corral los Andes.

Drive through the gate which is closed, please close it again, that our horses don’t run away into the Andes. Follow the way and after about 1500 meters you are in front of our gate: Corral los Andes.
